If you’re looking for ideas within the consumer sector, this could be an interesting follow for you. The goal of The Consumer Ascent is to highlight businesses that are, both, riding a secular tailwind as well as out-executing competitors such that their financial performance can either reasonably sustain over a multi-year period or massively surprise in the near-term. Hopefully, I can deliver both to you.
My inaugural post on APR Co ($278470), a beauty company based in South Korea, is a prime example of the business I’m looking to highlight on here. It’s a business that can be overlooked because it operates in the highly competitive cosmetics industry, but the business structure as well as underlying data suggests clear competitive differentiation. Plus, we’re seeing a K-beauty wave globally, and APR Co is the #1 beneficiary from this massive trend.
For the most part, the posts will highlight businesses where I see meaningful upside to their stock rather than simply discussing what makes them so great.
In terms of deliverables you should expect:
1-2 actionable ideas on a quarterly basis
More frequent trade ideas or near-term updates
Less frequent thought pieces on consumer trends
Downloadable financial models (email me to request)
